  • WHO IS A MORTGAGE BROKER?

    An individual who works as an intermediary between lending instituions and borrowers, helping them with the application process and trying to match them to the best rates as well as loan type. Unlike a Mortgage Officer, who is employed by a specific lender, the Mortgage Broker works independently and gets paid by the lender in the form of an origination fee when the transaction closes, which the borrower ultimately pays through fees and interest rates.
